The Solid Waste Department collects over 2,000 garbage cans per week. Currently, the Streets Department has one collection truck and a driver. The monumental task of collecting from residential and business areas for Nephi City is completed each week over three business days. We are dedicated to giving you the service you need and deserve!

Q: I need to start utilities and need garbage. How do I do this?
A: You can contact Nephi City by calling (435)623-0822. They will help you set up utilities and start Solid Waste/garbage collection.
Q: How do I find out when my garbage pick-up day is?
A: Finding out your collection day is easy! Check out our Collection Map located your road and you have it!
Q: Are there rules for what I can put in the trash can?
A: YES! Please see our Collection Policies.
Q: You missed picking up my garbage, what should I do?
A: Call Nephi City Office during business hours at (435)623-0822 and we will help you!
Q: My trash can is damaged, who can I contact?
A: Please contact Nephi City Office at (435)623-0822.
Q: I need an extra trash can, can I order one?
A: Absolutely! Please contact Nephi City at (435)623-0822. Additional fees will be charged to your utility bill. As of 2025, that charge will be $15.70 per month.
Q: Do you observe holidays, and what does that mean for garbage collection?
A: Yes! We observe holidays. Collection on holidays will be adjusted, the best way to find out if your day is changed is to check back on our website, or follow us on social media!

Q: Can I place yard waste in my garbage can?
A: No. We do have a Green Waste in our city. They will accept certain types of yard waste for more information check out our Green Waste information sheet. Items that are NOT accepted will need to go to the JRDA Landfill.
Q: Is Nephi City in charge of the Landfill?
A: No. The JRDA Landfill is owned and operated by Juab County. We do not have the ability to waive fees, nor control what the Landfill will accept. We are lucky to have this service in our area, and please use the landfill for the items our trucks cannot pick up.
